HOT STONE Massage

Heated Stone Massage is perhaps the most relaxing form of massage offered at Essential Massage Therapy Center. The heat and weight of Lake Superior’s naturally smoothed basalt stones will calm both your body and mind as they are incorporated into your massage session.

Your therapist will begin the session with a general relaxation massage or deep tissue depending upon your preferences. After about 15 minutes heated stones will be used to further soften and warm your soft tissue, once the stones have cooled sufficiently to be left comfortably in place on your skin. Let your therapist know if the stones feel too hot at any time or if you feel uncomfortable and need to move. After a time the stones will then be massaged off of your body as your session comes to a close.
